Hannah Moore: From Intern to Program Delivery Lead

July 25, 2024

What is it like to intern for Brooksource? Or better yet, what is it like to grow your career at the same company you interned at? In honor of National Intern Day, we sat down with Hannah Moore, Brooksource Detroit’s Program Delivery Lead, to discuss her 6-year journey with Brooksource and the Eight Eleven Family of Companies that all started with an internship in May 2018.

How Did You Get Started with Brooksource & The Eight Eleven Family of Companies?

“I started (with Brooksource) as an intern in May of 2018, completed my internship in August, and returned as a full-time employee (FTE) after graduation in June 2019. As an intern, I went through new hire training alongside the new FTEs, joined AEs onsite for check drops, shadowed internals, and role-played bios. This gave me a great opportunity to see the business up close and feel out if this career was a good fit for me.

The friendships I formed, and the way that I grew as a person. The Detroit team really challenged me, encouraged me, supported me, and it made me feel like I was capable of not just doing the job, but doing it well. I had so much personal and professional development that summer, thanks to those around me.”

What Initially Attracted You to Brooksource at the Time?

“I was still figuring out what I wanted to do with my career - all I knew was that I wanted to work with others and help people, but I didn’t know what that could look like. Brad Adams, a family friend, seemed to really love his job and connected me to the Detroit market. I realized almost immediately that this company had something to offer that no other place could - support, collaboration, impact, and family! The Detroit team is really what made me realize what a great fit Brooksource could be."

How Was Your Transition to Full-Time?

“On the last day of my internship, Marisa May, the Detroit MD, took me to lunch and offered me a full-time position after my graduation. Of course, I accepted on the spot! I returned to Michigan State to complete my senior year and began my position as a full-time recruiter one month after my graduation. My responsibilities focused entirely around recruiting when I returned, but the exposure from my internship really helped me feel like I was able to hit the ground running as a recruiter”

What Is Your Current Role Now?

“Currently, I am a Professional Recruiter and the Program Delivery Lead for one of our Fortune 500 Automotive clients. My entire role is focused on supporting Brooksource’s Elevate program for our client. I create partnerships with local universities to identify talent pipelines, support students in their job search, and identify potential opportunities. For active consultants, I help organize program events and workshops and provide professional development coaching to help them navigate new challenges.”

Why Have You Stayed with Eight Eleven Group All This Time?

“The people! This job isn’t always easy, we deal with unpredictable things and I’m often figuring it out as I go, but when you’re surrounded by people who care about you it makes the tough times that much easier to manage. I also feel there is always going to be the opportunity to grow, and I’m always going to have the support I need to accomplish that growth.”
